This year, the Füredi Anna Ball celebrates its 200th anniversary. From July 22 to 27, 2025, Balatonfüred will once again be filled with elegance and a festive atmosphere, with organizers expecting a record number of guests and numerous surprises for this special occasion. The sight of stunning dresses, elegant ladies, and refined gentlemen invites a true journey through time, offering a glimpse into one of the most unique events of Hungarian culture.

On July 26, 1825, the first Anna Ball was organized in Balatonfüred by János Szentgyörgyi Horváth in honor of his daughter, Anna-Krisztina.

Initially starting as a family event, the celebration gradually became a symbol of national consciousness during the Reform Era and eventually grew into a prestigious nationwide social event.

Today, the ball both evokes history and entertains its guests. Visitors arrive at the event in period costumes—silk dresses, tailcoats, or traditional Hungarian attire—with many making a grand entrance in horse-drawn carriages.

The ball’s festive atmosphere is made special by live music, a structured dance program, and the selection of the ball’s royal court.

The most beautiful debutante is ceremoniously crowned and then presented to the public the following day in a spectacular horse-drawn carriage procession.
